 CROQUET FOR EVENTS
quintessentially English

The original game
FROM THE 1800s

Jaques established croquet at the Great Exhibition in 1851. Association Croquet is a chess-like game in which players put together long breaks like snooker. It's highly strategic though not ideal for quorporate events.

Quorporate croquet
WHAT IT'S NOT

One cheap garden centre set with a few bits missing and incomprehensible rules with no one to explain them. Nor is it some guy with a flip chart and 30 minutes on croquet theory before you get your hands on a mallet!

Quorporate croquet
WHAT IT IS

Top quality equipment from Jaques in quantity so many people can play at the same time. We've adapted the fun and shorter game of Golf Croquet to make it less genteel and even more competitive. Please don't tell our friends at the Croquet Association!

PETANQUE FOR EVENTS

uniquely French

The original game
INVENTED IN 1907

Pétanque, formerly petanca from the Provencal dialect

pès tancats meaning 'feet planted', meant that in La Ciotat rheumatism-sufferer Jules Lenoir could play his beloved jeu de boules without taking a run-up...

Quorporate petanque
WHAT IT'S NOT

A cheap garden centre set of plastic balls and no one to tell you exactly how or where to throw them! Nor does it get close to approaching the seriousness of the Pétanque England website - with an 'é' to prove their credentials.

WHAT IT IS

The right quality, weight and diameter of metal boules to make a game for all to get engaged, show their flair and feel French for a while. By using our black and silver boules,  players can see the tactical options and the importance of playing as an équipe!

QUOITS FOR EVENTS

really quite British

The original game
WITH STEEL QUOITS

Who knew quoits weigh 6 to 11 lbs, and the tops and bottoms are different? Or that there's a Long Game, a Northern Game and quoit a lot of words like 'cleaner', 'lighter', 'ringer', 'cover' and 'side-toucher'?

Quorporate quoits
WHAT IT'S NOT

One cheap garden centre set of floppy rope quoits and a fold-out frame with 5 stakes ridiculously close to each other. Nor is it an overly serious version of one of the many hundreds-of-years-old variants from around the UK.

Quorporate quoits
WHAT IT IS

We use steel-reinforced rope quoits and combine the rules of traditional, deck and sward quoits (lawn quoits to you and me) to make quoit a good team game. Don't tell the clay bed lovers from East Anglia or those quirky slate bed guys in Pennsylvania!

QUORNHOLE FOR EVENTS

really quite American

Cornhole-history.png
The original game
WITH CORN KERNEL BAGS

Patented as 'Parlor Quoits' in 1883 by Heyliger de Windt, the original game had a square hole. Later as 'Faba Baga' it had two different sized round holes and two different sizes of bags...

Quorporate quornhole
WHAT IT'S NOT

A pair of basic half boards with a simple hole and the wrong bags, nor is it a bodged DIY job made with the wrong materials and dimensions. And, it needn't include a tailgate party and quite a lot of American beer, though it could...

WHAT IT IS

High quality cornhole boards made to exact US specifications with the correct weight and size of bags. We have kept the cancellation scoring but have adapted the game to suit group events - please don't tell the American (or UK) Cornhole Association!
